For sale is my much-loved MC-1 Turbo HOMC cartridge. I purchased this cartridge about 5 years ago. It saw regular use for the first year or so, then sat idle until the last 6 months, when my listening room was finally completed. I honestly can't tell you total hours of use, but my best guess is 300-400, max. It's always been used on my Thorens TD-280 Mk 2 table, at a tracking force of ~ 2g (recommended range is 1.8-2.2g). This is the best cartridge I've personally ever owned, and it has a smooth sound to it, which nicely matches with the jazz vocal, singer-songwriter stuff I listen to a lot of. I'm only selling because I recently acquired a phone stage with adjustable loading capabilities, and am interested in playing with a higher-end (for me) MM cartridge. In fact, I'd be open to a full/partial trade for an AT440 MLa, Grado Reference, Ortofon 2M Blue, or something in that range. There are no issues; cantilever is straight, mounting points are intact, etc. it still sounds as good as it ever has, I've just got the itch for a change of pace and this will help fund a new cartridge. It's still on my table and in use until I secure a new cartridge, hence the photos. I do not have a way to photograph the stylus microscopically. Let me know if you have any questions. I'll charge you actual shipping, whatever it turns out to be. I have the original box and stylus guard to pack it in. Link to tnt-audio review is attached.
$125.00 + actual shipping charges.
