Football Facemasks
« on: 6 Jan 2013, 07:23 pm »
Hi,with all the hype about concushions and helmet to helmet hits,I couldn't help notice a year ago a New York Giants defensive linemans face mask, his name eludes me right now. There are so many bars on his facemask he looked like a Spartian soldier rather than an active player. The long time running back for the Chargers,(LT),started this fad by trying to make his face mask look like Darth Vaders on Star Wars. These new face masks are so much over kill.I played in the line a time ago and I felt a large cage was too heavy and hampered your speed, and the newest ones hamper your vision impairing it.For example,I just watched the Ravens Ray Lewis get a tipped pass right to him in the second quarter. He had all those un nessesary bars and he dropped a ball right  to him my grand mother could of caught, vision impairment! He may of looked tougher but if they lose, blame it on the new face mask style. What do you all think......Mark Korda

I think Ray Lewis is wearing one of those.  Not that he needs any help looking scary!
