Up for sale are my beautiful Salk HT3's. They were made in 2006 and I'm the second owner, having owned them since May of 2007. Back then the base price was $4995 and they have the following options:
Sonic Caps w/ Sonic Cap Platinum Teflon Bypass Caps $ 600
Alpha Core Inductors $ 350
Acoustic Zen internal tri-wiring $ 400
3 Sets of Cardas Standard Binding Posts $ 100
Black Hole 5 Cabinet Dampening Pads $ 300
Woofer Grills $ 100
Macassar Ebony w/ Black Lacquer Baffles, Plinths & Port Tube Covers $1,000
Total $7,845
The base price today is $1000 more so these babies would go for close to $9K today. There are some minor blemishes (I would conservatively rate 7/10 on the audiogon scale), but they're only visible very close up. The Macassar Ebony is a much desired finish and often requested on new Salk speakers. It really looks dramatic in person and I get a lot of complements when people visit.
The only reason I'm considering selling is to move up the Salk line - considering a pair of Soundscape 10's. I love these speakers and thought they'd be my last purchase, but I'm always tempted to upgrade.
Priced to sell for $3600. Would prefer local sale since I don't have the original packing, and would be willing to meet buyer within reason. I'm located in Monmouth County, NJ. Otherwise they would have to professional packaged and shipped. I have over 10 years of positive feedback on audiogon as peabody33 so buy with confidence. Additional photos available on request.
