I'm a fan of parsimony. If a new album I am considering buying is mastered from a CD rip, I'd rather skip the additional level of remove and buy the digital version.
My question: is there any database available which gives this kind of information?
For some time there (early 2000s), several labels would display "mastered from an analog source" or the like on their releases, but that seems to have fallen out of style with the exception of boutique presses like Music Matters etc.
