kijiji gta sub-woofer system    i  responded to this listing as  it came with a 800 watt bryston power amp. apparently it is a 7b made for i max but does not carry the bryston logo. he only wants 600 for the amp and a pair of 18 inch emminence bass bins. i believe he said it was branded sonics of texas. posting to see if any body has any info. has two toroid transformers so i think its the real thing. if it is its a hell of a deal

Yes all the IMAX theaters used Bryston amps and we built them for Sonics under their name.

googled imax sound systems and found this "In 1988, Imax acquired Sonics Associates Inc. as an affiliate. Alabama based Sonics is a world leader in sound system design and offers customers the benefits of more than 26 years of research and hands-on experience in the IMAX theatre network." found one other article that linked imax and bryston but there was no mention of a 7b. im starting to believe this is a 7b is it a st.

Thanks James. Great to hear that professional application of Bryston. Makes me feel more studio-like here at home with your great products. :wine:
