...... With the Merrill N-Core based amp which are on the brighter side of neutral

charles

This would have to be played to see if it on the brighter side of neutral. Certainly brighter then Aerions but not shown to be brighter than neutral on Pipedreams speakers.

All the Hypex NC1200 based amp reviews I've read are calling the Hypex modules sensational, albeit expensive and a surprising big leap forward from the NC400. I'm sorry to hear the NY Audio Rave has been cancelled, I hope the area can rebound quickly from the horrific damage Sandy brought.

Hank & Bryan, Just give Greg a call and he will answer any questions you have
Reading his emphatic statements on designing compatible subs, I got the impression that he definitely wants to sell only systems of mains and subs.

Hank, Still a steal at $3500/pr and the subs integrate speed wise with mid woofers, add your own true sub below 40hz if needed or wanted and have it all. This is a planar that reaches below 80hz before adding 2- 8" mid-woofers and the blend is more invisible than most other designs. Greg uses 1st order simple x-overs, a cap on the ribbon and a big choke on the 2 8" mid-woofers, and nothing on the planar, for a direct signal path without any corrective filters. Consider it a "speaker" that reaches the upper 20s, roll your own sub in and use the plate amp's controls to integrate Greg's subs, with deeper reaching more impactive subs for power and infrasonics. Greg tells me that removing the caps from the planar, and redesigning the damping on the  kapton planar to take a full range signal without breaking up, really unleashes the dynamics, detail, and jump factor of the speaker! This came only recently, but at CAF the bold dynamics and resolution were two of the GTA2s strongest features. He currently is without power/heat/internet/water, so his cell is the only way to reach him, call and discuss your questions, he has nothing else to do. LOL
