Selling a Moscode 402au Hybrid Tube Amp. I am the second owner. Purchased here on AC from another member just a few months ago while waiting for my VAC amp. According to the previous owner, the amp only had 100 hours on it after the upgrades. This already fantastic sounding tube amp has been upgraded with the Vishay Resistors and Mundorf Supreme Gold-Silver Oil Capacitors mod taking it to a whole new level. This is an approved mod that was done by Mosocde. The stock amp combined the best of both worlds with the midrange magic that only tubes can provide and 200W of solid state power to control the control the bass output.
The Vishay/ Mundorf upgrade replaces the crititcal negative feedback resistors with Vishay S102 ultra low noise resistors. Then we replace 2 of the coupling capacitors with Mundorf Supreme Gold-Silver-Oil caps. The resulting improvement is a jump in performance from Great to MAGIC. Deeper extended soundstage, better bass, Futterman like high's. It's holographic. Everyone who has done this upgrade says it is well worth it.
The upgrade is also available for 401HR's and 402Au's for $799.
This amp can be custom tailored to your own liking by rolling different tubes such as 6H30, 12AU7, 6922 just to name a few.
The amp will come with the stock 6CG7 tubes and upgraded 6H30-DR tubes ($200 value)
I had the original stock amp and sold it to upgrade to a VAC amp. While there was a delay waiting for my VAC amp to arrive, I purchase this upgraded Moscode amp to tide me over. I have only had it a few months at the most. Definitely one of the best tube amps I have heard!
