Advise on inexpensive XLR's
« on: 12 Oct 2012, 01:58 pm »
I have just added a used 9B SST to my SP2/4B SST2 set-up.  The 9B will drive my Kef dipoles and Cyrus centre for home theatre whilst the 4B SST2 is driving my Kef 205/2's.  I am not familiar with US cable manufacturers, so I am seeking your advice on inexpensive XLR cables for the SP2/9B and speaker cable for the dipoles.

I am sure many of you have gone through several iterations of cables in such systems and your advise will hopefully narrow my choices considering the lack on hifi dealers in my area.

Looking forward to your ideas.

Regards, Scott

You could always try Bryston's cables. I find them to be a good honest cable without all the bull shit.

I've never used Bryston cables but trust that their high quality.

I have used and can highly recommend Blue Jeans Cable.

I have many inexpensive XLR's I would be happy to sell you if you're interested.  7 single Monstercable 850i XLR's as well as Liberty Cable Z500 w/ OCC (ohno crystal cast copper) and high quality connectors.  Don't need them so would sell for $25 a pair + shipping.  I have some 9 pairs of the Liberty Cable, 4 pairs which are still new in the original packaging.

Had to throw that in there.........if interested send me a PM......

With that said, I really like my current Wireworld Oasis 6 XLR's, which retail for about $80 - $100 for 1M a pair I think.  Very neutral cable w/ good depth / width.
