Altec 1569 monoblocks
« on: 16 Oct 2012, 02:22 pm »
I have a pair of Altec 1569 amps that has been completely restored with several upgrades. they have been rebuilt on Brazilian Rosewood bases with mirror polished stainless steel tops. I changed the input/phase inverter tubes from 6cg7's to 6sn7's. Underneath all components have been upgraded, including additional filter caps, and dual chokes. The coupeling caps are Mundorf silver foil in oil, with Edison Price binding posts. Ive included a photo of a pretty much stock one (last photo) so you can note the upgrades. For those of you who know the quality of these old Peerless transformers, then you know the beauty of the sound these will put out. Match them to a set of good vintage horns, and a tube front end and instant sonic nirvana. Included are a set of nos 5U4 rectifiers, a quad of JJ E34L out put, and a pair of vintage 6sn7's (per amp). For anyone interested I also have a set of NOS Mullard xf2 EL34 power tubes, and xf2 5AR4 rectifiers Ill sell for additional to the buyer only .Also will include a schematic, and power cord. they are located in Charlottesville, Virginia, and local pu is welcome and encouraged. Ill gladly ship anywhere at your expense. I know how to pack well. $3500.00 Open to offers, and possible trades for almost anything.  Dont have many psots here but check my feedback as goldnagual at Ebay or Audiogon Questions, feel free to email me at hbs4y2001@yahoo.com  Thanks for looking.
