I just got a Modwright KWA 150 solid state power amplifier and am considering the Joule-Electra LA150 MKII Signature Edition to use with it. Would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who has tried this combination or a Joule-Electra preamp with a similar solid state amplifier.

I am also considering one of the Modwright preamps which are designed to work together, but the Joule-Electra fascinates me.

 Thank You

Joule preamp huge image, looks both transformers had two screws missing...
I wonder why do they do this??

Interesting, I guess it is not a fully balanced pre-amplifier.

I afraid I not understand what you mean say by balanced(balanced inputs??), this model is Stereo, just one power supply(not the SE model).
If I remember well the circuit is the Mu-Follower from the 1950s, it use two tubes only per channel, it had less DHT than the SRPP, I unaware if the Mu-Follower can be done in a balanced circuit, if so it would use 4 tubes per channel.
