Always loved Deep Purple, bands just don't rock like that anymore and  Their shows were legendery.    RIP

Thanks for the post.  I did not know Mr. Lord passed away.  My introduction into rock music was Deep Purple.  I still remember hearing the song "Hush" in a discount store named Jamesway (some of you might remember that store) and I was hooked on Deep Purple after that.  Rest in peace Jon.

Very sad news -- I heard he was battling cancer with some success then this took him. A total gentleman, saw him live several times, always great. For all the attention Blackmore got, Jon Lord really was the person who made Purple sound the way they did. His Hammond provided a soundtrack to my teenage years and early adulthood. Time to crank up Made in Japan on vinyl one more time. RIP Jon.
