I do not have the following in my cd collection, but when I'm alone i will hum & attempt to sing them: Got To Be There -Jackson 5, I'll Be There- Jackson 5. Wow I feel so much better now, all those yrs of useless therapy !

Super Cheesy for me would include the following:

  • My Sharona - The Knack.
  • Mokerana - no idea of the group.
  • Red  Solo Cup - Toby Keith.
  • Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves - Sonny & Cher
Quote: Mokerana - no idea of the group.

It would be the song ''Macarena'' with the Los Del Rio group:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=fvwp&v=anzzNp8HlVQ&NR=1

Lyrics:
Dale a tu cuerpo alegria Macarena
Que tu cuerpo es pa' darle alegria y cosa buena
Dale a tu cuerpo alegria, Macarena
 Hey Macarena

 (rpt 1)

Macarena sueqa con El Corte Ingles
Que se compra los modelos mas modernos
Le gustaria vivir en Nueva York
 Y ligar un novio nuevo
Macarena sueqa con El Corte Ingles
Que se compra los modelos mas modernos
Le gustaria vivir en Nueva York
 Y ligar un novio nuevo

Looking Glass

Seasons in the Sun - Terry Jacks
The Night Chicago Died - Paper Lace
Saturday in the Park - Chicago
Baby One More Time - Britney Spears
Honey - Bobby Goldsboro

Tons of others - I'm a sucker for sappy bubblegum.

My brother and I had "seasons in the  sun' on 45 back in the day and it was his favorite song. The B side of that record was 'put the bone in' :) Thanks for bringing back great memories.

Put the bone in
She yelled at the store
'Cause my doggie's been hit by a car
And I do want to bring him home something
Put the bone in
She yelled out once more
Because the meat from the pork is so sweet
And the bone from the pork give to me
Put the bone in she begged him
As she paced across the floor
Put the bone in she yelled out once more

Put the bone in
She yelled at the store
Cause my doggie's been hit by a car
And I do want to bring him home something
Put the bone in
She yelled out once more ...

It's funny; I started reading this thread with the mindset that there were no such songs for me, but then I started hearing Three Dog Night in my head. So, I submit 'One is the Loneliest Number' as my super cheesy song that I ashamedly must confess to loving. I'm sure there are others, but all I can hear right now is Chuck Negron's voice. Of course, it was a cover of a Harry Nilsson song, but who doesn't hear Three Dog Night when they think about it?

I just can't explain it, for some reason I am drawn towards this tune - oh well, on the brighter side is that I have never owned a polyester suit.

This song would have been out of my periphery, but now that I've heard the Pittsburgh Steelers, the US Women's Swim Team and other sports teams do video renditions of it, I can't get this quintessential catchy pop song out of my head - "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen.

In fact, for some reason I can't stop saying the name Carly Rae Jepsen, just like when I saw the movie "The Usual Suspects", I couldn't stop saying the name Keyser Söze.
