How can they be the same when the Quad 12L is rear ported?
Wharfedale and Quad are both owned by IAG, International Audio Group. Although the respective brands make no comparisons, from what I can research many people on the forums say they use the "same" drivers and amplifier, although certainly the drivers
look different viewed from the outside.
However the Wharfedale has a 1.9KHz crossover point versus the Quad's 2.2KHz. The Wharfedale has a slightly larger cabinet and does have a front port versus the Quad's dual rear ports. Apparently without the ports on the rear, the Wharfedale has a heat sink nearly twice the size.
