I spent the last 4 weeks "burning in" the DAC and cannot believe how phenomenal this DAC sounds now that I've crossed the 500 hour mark. It is one of the best sounding DAC's I've ever heard. So much so that I just purchased a Zodiac Gold with Voltikus power supply ($4,495) to replace it.
This base Zodiac is so good that I've replaced my Empirical Audio Off-Ramp 4 and Metrum Octave DAC with this new Zodiac. It sounds so much better and the detail is phenomenal! The Off-Ramp and Metrum is sold.
Because of my success after "burn in" with the Silver Zodiac base model, I decided to purchase a Zodiac Gold with Voltikus power supply and am now in process of "burning in" this new DAC. I'll be able to compare the two in another 1 to 2 months. However, I've decided to sell this Zodiac (Silver) DAC to make room for the new one and to give someone else an opportunity to exprience what I have. I'll have to do my comparison from memory and notes. I paid $1,895 plus shipping for this Zodiac DAC last month, have spent the burn in time for your benefit, and am willing to sell it for $1,500 plus actual shipping cost to you.
