The CD player has nothing directly to do with the DPS, but they both plug in to the same mains supply, as does the rest of my system. The DPS replaces switch mode power supplies. In my case, one for the P-75 and now one for the Versalex.
I have read on many occasions that having a switch mode PSU connected to the mains supply of your system has, or can have, a negative influence on that system. I have never actually tested this however.
If it were true, then removing the switch mode PSU(s), by replacement with a DPS, could be expected to improve the performance of not only the CD player but also the pre amp and possibly, although less likely, even the power amp.
My recent experience seems to support this in that the sound of the system when playing a CD has improved when I added the DPS and the only possible way I can think that adding the DPS could have caused this is by the removal of the P-75’s original PSU from the mains supply.
Yes I do use the cueing lift, but have not installed the finger lift.
