minimum requirements for usb sticks
« on: 23 Jul 2012, 06:51 pm »
hi, all!

i have a 32gb usb stick from CN Memory (Spaceloop) with the following specs:

- up to 12MB/s and up to 80x for read
- up to 3,5MB/s and up to 23x for write

the stick is loaded with hi res material (192/24 & 176.4/24). i noticed some dropouts now and then during playback AND especially when moving the mpod's ffw cursor.

has anyone made similar experiences? is it necessary to purchase usb sticks with much better read/write performance??

thanks guys,

al.

Hi

What interface / controller are you using to control the BDP-1? Maybe that's where the issue stems, not the flash drive.

hi, ronman!

i'm using Gnome or Bryston's MAX. but i'm not sure which one of the interfaces were running when the issue came up...will try again later.

what could be the reason that either Gnome and/or MAX would have a problem with that kind of usb stick?

thanks,

al.
