I am asking 4K for my VTL 450 MB. These amps are well know and well reviewed. Just let me know if there are any questions. In my opinion these amps bring more of the tube magic than the Audio Research peers but it is also not as linear as them either. Likewise, I feel they bring more control and flat response than the CJ, Mac and Rouge offerings.
I am the third owner of these amps, and I have spent over $2k on upgrades for the amp. I also spent another $1K+ to re-tube with all NOS and golden lion KT88 tubes. However, the amp will be sold with the stock tubes.
The mods that's been done on this amp are:
- 4 upgraded main caps
- 2 upgraded overspec B+ fuse
- 2 Thurmister circuit for throttling current during tube warm up to extend tube life.
