Vintage 7591's
« on: 21 May 2012, 02:40 pm »

I'm looking for a quad of vintage 7591's Preferably NOS, but slightly used would be okay as long as they test strong and are from a reputable seller. I have a quad of Westinghouse 7591's in my Scott LK72-B. They came with the amp and I have no idea how many hours are on them or how much life they have left in them. The amp does sound very good. I replaced them with a quad of current production EH7591's and I just don't care for the sound. I reinstalled the Westinghouse tubes and the magic returned. I know those tubes won't last forever and they will need replacing. I would like to avoid using the EH7591's if I can. That brings me back to the vintage tubes. Does anyone out there know of a reputable seller who may have these tubes or that can get these tubes? I know they may be expensive, but I'm willing to pay a reasonable premium for the right tubes. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
