CD sales are dropping but the under 30 crowd is willing to spend 18-25 bucks for an LP? That's surprising. I'm sure its not about sound quality.
Yes, it is true and for the ones I talked to, it is about sound quality. I talked to two Gonzaga law students who spent more than $100 on new vinyl. One was thrilled he was able to pick up The Black Keys El Comino 45 RPM on 180g vinyl. He opted to spend more for the 45 RPM because of the sound quality. Not every youngster buying vinyl is doing it for sound quality, but a high percentage are and that is very cool.
