I did not pick up that Lou Reed "RnR Animal" because I have an original. It's a great disk. The "Sweet Jane Intro" is fantastic.

I hit Flat Black & Circular in East Lansing. Got a bunch of stuff, will have to post later. Didn't realize the Fleetwood Mac came in a 45 rpm pressing, just like last year. I'm sure I have the 33 rpm...

Don't allow myself to get into 7"s or even most 45s, so skipped right over that stuff. But just killed it LP-wise today. With a little help from friends looking at various other spots.

The haul:
Flaming Lips & Fwends
Sigur Ros (apparently very hard to find nationwide)
Lee Scratch Perry
Luna "Romantic" (also a toughie to find it seems)
Animal Collective
Mississippi John Hurt
Pelican
Destroyer

And of the non-RSD specials grabbed a Mingus live LP called Meditation (that I can't find any info on yet) and James Brown Live at the Apollo.

Here's some great news for all the vinyl shoppers in the greater los Angeles area.

One of he best high end shops in LA, Brooks Berdan, is having their grand opening of their in house record store today in celebration of Record Store Day!

I was in the store yesterday while they were still finishing it, but I was able to get a pretty god view of it. This is not the usual audio store record section, this is a full on record store. If anyone is familiar with the store, they used to have a sizable back area that housed their 'Audio Museum'. This has now been completely taken over by the record store.

I can't afford too much of the equipment they sell there, but they found a great way to get my money anyway.

And then there was the special Record Store Day brewing collaboration between Reckless Records and Three Floyds Brewing: Rye'd Da Lightning.

Delicious. Pics to come.

Wow! Thanks for sharing the great pictures. I had my days confused, ( thought record day was (sunday) today ) but a friend and I hit up Cactus Music and Sound exchange in Houston today anyway.  There was still a good crowd. I viewed the RSD releases; Wish i had the money for the Fleetwood Mac 1975 album (45 rpm).  I picked up the first two Boston albums and Santana Moonflower.  15% off plus another 5% off with a receipt of any other RSD store - we had stopped at Sound exchange first where my friend picked up Roy Orbison's greatest hits.  All in all it was a great success and we had alot of fun.
