Hi all, esp the JVC guys.

I have a JVC QL - Y5F.
Seeing as Denon seems to have co-designed this series of TT I thought I might get one to go with it.
Is the DP 37F about equivalent ?

I would place the JVC a touch higher.  I had a Y3F for years
and loved that table.  Should have refurbed it and kept it.

Yeah, I like it which is why I was thinking of getting something similar.

Actually I'm wondering if replacing my NAD 5120 with the Denon DP 37F is a step up or down ?
These 2 are completely different design-wise but are about the same age.
I have the NAD and know it can be controversial but I also heard some of the current TTs are based on it.

The QL-Y5F is a mid-mass servo damped arm

The DP37F is a low mass servo damped arm.

Quality of the result might be down to the compliance of the cartridge being used?

The damping will allow the use of many different compliance cartridges on either one, but ultimately best results are achieved with damping set to a low setting and with the cartridge compliance matching the arm as closely as possible....

I would love to get my hands on a JVC QL-Y66/77 with the exchangebale tonearm wands - and S-arm for mid to low compliance cartridges and the straight low mass arm for the high compliance....

Well this idea's on indefinite hold.
The Denon was sold from under me for $100 less than the guy told me was his lowest acceptable price !  Prick.
I've already got 2 TTs anyway and it means that money goes to a RCM.
