Omaha Metro Salk owners?
« on: 4 Mar 2012, 08:54 pm »
Hello all, I am getting ready to upgrade to some new speakers and am extremely interested in What Jim and Dennis are doing with these amazing speakers. I have yet to hear in person ANY of the Salk family of speakers.
Before I can in good faith spend this kind of money I would like to at least hear what kind of sound they produce.
I am in the Omaha Neb. metro area and am wondering if there are any Salk owners close that wouldn't mind letting me give a listen.
Thanks, Steve

I live in Omaha, NE.

I have 2009 vintage Salk HT2-TL's, Salk SongTowers (dome tweeter), and a 15" Rythmik sub with passive radiators (Jim custom built this). Also have an assortment of AVA gear.

I'm out behind 20 Grand Movie theater on 144th and Maple. Send me a PM and we can set up something.

:thumb: Sweet, thank you Flores! I will be in contact with you soon. I was actually thinking about HT2's or 3's and now that these ss8's are out I'm leaning that way.

Thank you for the invite dlbeck, if I can get out your way I will get in touch with you.  Brian, I am sure there are a few others in the area but I wouldn't know who nor how to get in touch with them other then here and on other boards. It would be cool to see a map with owners around the states and wether or not they are wiling to demo. If I decide to join the Salk family I  would be open to give demos.

You can also contact Jim Salk and he will help you find a local owner willing to offer an audition.

Big Red that is very tempting & I might take you up on that! I think I'm leaning more towards the ht2, ht3, or SS8 Depending on what I hear locally from the owners kind enough to allow me an audition. Shoot with the new SS8 I'm sure there will be plenty of owners selling in order to upgrade to them. Truth is I really don't know what to expect and I'm unfamiliar with each speakers voicing.
I will surely contact Jim as I get closer and probably bug the crap outta him talking options and his thoughts on the best fit for my situation, I know he is a very busy man and I don't want to bother him nor waste his time until I am sure of what I think I want lol. Thanks for the link and heads up guys, I did see that thread but wasn't sure how up to date it was.

Just wanted to say thanks again to Floresjc for inviting me to his home today to listen to his system, I was very impressed to say the least and I really have a tough decision to make. I think that a call to Jim is in order for some possible insight and guidance to help me with my decision.
