Handwriting recognition software.
« on: 24 Feb 2012, 09:46 pm »
I'm currently evaluating tablets and convertible laptops with digitizer screens for pen input for my office. So far I've tried the built-in pen input with Win7 Pro as well as riteScript. Both are good, but I seem to think the Win7 app is more powerful with a learning mode and available libraries (technical, medical, etc.).

Does anyone else have any experience with this technology, and if so, what handwriting software are you using?

Steve Jobs famously observed that tablets and pen based computing was fundamentally flawed because most people could type faster than they could write.  And death would take care of those who couldn't.

He made this observation while they were still secretely developing the iPad.

Of course, you really can't type very fast on an iPad ...
