I live in South City. I am slowly working on a set of home-theater speakers which started as strict dipoles then slowly migrated to hybrids (monopole sub, dipole upper) similar to the humblehifi Modulus or Paul Carmody Sunflowers as I did more research. The speakers are still in progress.

During my research I stumbled upon audiocircle and noticed the GAS group. How do you join the group? I'd be interested in hearing other peoples' setups, with particular interest in dipole loudspeaker designs or omni designs like the GR-Research A/V-O or AV123 Omni.

Bill,
I'm just glad you did not title your post " newb: bi-curious". You would have got a whole different response.
These are a great bunch of guys here in GAS. I doubt you'll find a better group of guys to indulge your audio/video passions with.

an easy typo could've sent it downhill fast too, like  newb: pole curious

i haven't been around for long, but seems like a lot of GAS guys like open baffle & panel speakers & what not. Lots of tube gear, analog rigs & subs.  Frequent get togethers.

Bill, You came to the right place. Scott, and Bob will set you on the right track (THE ROAD TO RUIN ). Lots of good guys here and all types of gear and music. I am always free for a session on Monday nights. While I don't have dipoles we can still listen to music and some gear. Are you into vinyl? Plenty of analog heads here too. So I just want to say welcome  :thumb: would love to meet you sometime.

I laughed when I thought of the post subject title. As for vinyl, I sold my collection in a move years ago. I think I had Technics SL1200 direct drive table. I just wasn't using it that much.

Glad to hear there are a lot of people in the area interested in open baffle speakers. I've been working on a prototype for my speaker and I think listening to other systems instead of just reading about them will help me finalize the direction I want to go.

Let me know when there is a meeting. Monday and Wednesday evenings usually have a better WAF during the week, and I'm available some weekends though the next week is sort of a mess.
