Related to my Post about Behringer A500 configuration I am curious of your guys thoughts on preferred speaker cable/connects to the RM2's?

Hi Hemy,

Well that is a wide open question.  Brian's and my favorites right now are from WyWires, but you will find a wide and varied list of great cables on VMPS speakers.

I would suggest looking for something that represents the same level of gear you use to drive the speakers.  Even some great "DIY" recipes work like the LOWES DIY Speaker Cable suggestions of Marty Dewulf from Bound for Sound of years ago have been reported to be great.

Changing to Audio Analysis Oval 9s was big improvement for my RM3s.

Funnily enough I've just changed speaker cable on my bi-wired RM30ms.

I employed very well used van der Huul snowtrack cables and I replaced them with Supra Ply 3.4. Neither are particularly expensive.

It's early days and it still sounds a bit 'raw' but a small but noticeable improvement in detail has occurred (as it did with bi-wiring).

:D Thanks so much everyone for the information. I am probably going to lean towards Audioquest as I currently have the type 4 connected to my Klipsch 1.5's (still running strong) and have some interconnects for my CD player. I enjoy both and think their quality is pretty good. Bad part is I do not know how log of a run I will need for the RM2's as I am currently putting together pieces for a future Home Theater for our next house (whenever we sell our current house). If I can run wire in the wall before finishing a portion of the basement then I can buy much better wire as the run will be shorter. But if I need to make long runs that will definetly change my price range!
John I know that is an open ended question...just getting a feel for what peoples favorites are...and want to do my future system right!!  :deadhorse:
btw...these smileys are fun!

AudioQuest can be an excellent choice and many of my customers use AQ on their VMPS and are VERY happy.

I've got audioquest's CV-8 with the DBS in a single wire and love it. Also have the colorado interconnect between receiver and AVA U70 and love that as well. I was quite surprised at the difference that cables made, in a good way. I don't think you can go wrong with Audioquest.

Quick question regarding AQ, where can I get those little batteries?  Mine are about 2 years old and though the light is still bright I wonder about replacing them. I know that they don't "do" any work, just set up a field but something tells me they should be replaced sometime.

John, do you sell them?

They are common batteries (not special) that you can get at most electronics stores that sell batteries like Radio Shack.

Just remove one and take it to the store.

Thanks Simon...I do like Audioquest but I guess I will just have to wait to see how long a run I need then determine how much I can spend  :(.

Thanks for the battery information, it is time to change them out I guess.  they are kind of weird so I thought they might be something special.

I still think that the addition of the AQ cables made one of the single most significant upgrades in my system. Subtle but significant. I am not going to go all GAGA for AQ per se, i am very happy with mine though. I think that cables, whatever they are, will have more of an impact than logic says they should.

Or, I have happily drunk the audio Kool Aid.

You can find them used sometimes or on E-bay. there is some talk of counterfeit ones on e-bay. That may be true but I don't believe so. My experience was quite positive.

good luck!
