The Siemens "silver plate" sounded very similar to the Psvane to me, with the only exception being the Siemens had a sparkly treble I didn't really care for. I don't remember if the midrange was warmer than the Psvane or not. I don't think it was.
That's really strange, because I just got through comparing a Siemens silver plate to a Collection Grade A Psvane 12au7 and to me they were not similar. The Psvane didn't have the rich midrange, the bass impact and sensation, or the gorgeous treble of the silver plate. Since I know the Psvane was their top of the line model, I can only guess that our setup is totally different, or our Silver plates are.
