http://shop.mapleshadestore.com/Static-Draining-Record-Brush/productinfo/PHONO-BRU/

does it work? Short of putting a humidifier in my den and putting a turbocharger on my Zerostat gun I gotta do something about record static.

Over here in the UK almost every record de-staticy thing is in the form of a brush. I've only used standard ones which seemed to work well for me (my records seem to build up zoo much static) and since that's grounded as well... Well I wish they were easily available over here!
Besides, money back guarantee on it too, nothing to loose!
Sorry I can't be much more use, but I thought I would share experience that brushes do work well, compared to zappers.

Although I haven't tried this brush, I have tried and own several Mapleshade products. Quality stuff and they stand behind their products.

I use the similar AcousTech model, with softer and longer bristles.  http://www.needledoctor.com/AcousTech-Big-Brush_2?sc=2&category=1177  The best brush yet for removing loose dust particles, but I really can't comment about static removal, it doesn't seem to add any at least.  However humidity is the best defense against wintertime static problems.  So I would go with a humidifier, they are relatively cheap compared to many of our audio obsessions.

I also use a Cecil Watts Parastat brush that applies a tiny layer of humidity directly to the record surface in order to combat static charge buildups, unfortunately discontinued some time in the 70's.  Poor examples usually available on eBay, I waited for a NOS example, extremely rare.

I haven't tried this particular brush, but have used several Bib brand carbon fiber brush since the 1980's and it has a ground strap. The ground strap works.

I've even modified other carbon fiber brushes, adding ground straps with great success.

I just use a regular carbon brush but I use this stuff, http://www.needledoctor.com/Gruv-Glide and I really like it. It works wonders for static, and I'm not one for "better listening through chemistry" either. It just works very well.

I tried the brush. It didn't do anything to ameliorate my static issues. The only thing that has resolved 90%+ of my static problem was buying a VPI HW16.5 and cleaning all my records. They are significantly less static-y after cleaning. I store all my records in MoFi sleeves as well.

It makes sense that proper wet cleaning works wonders on static. :)

Well Mr. Turner, I think I'm coming to the conclusion as the brush showed up on my doorstep a few days ago.  I think I'm going to exercise their Return Policy if you know what I mean!

Ditto that, Kevin.

Once the Nitty Gritty came into the picture, static issues largely eliminated.  I've tried various carbon brushes and various manual wet cleaners over the decades....and they did nearly nothing for improving sonics.

For all I know half or more of the tremendous benefit found using an RCM over any other cleaning method is near total elimination of static.  Those of us that use RCM's tend to get all warm and fuzzy gloating over how clean our grooves are and lack of clicks and pops afterward...but maybe near elimination of static is half the benefit and one we tend to overlook.

Beats me - i just know that using an RCM has eliminated a lot of the cons I thought were inherent in vinyl record playback.  It smokes my neurons how beneficial it really is  8)

I have no idea how I survived without mine as long as I did. Hand washing is soooo yesterday.
