Equipment to Trade
« on: 28 Dec 2011, 04:07 pm »
Cool :thumb:
I may be a newbie, but ran into Mariusz in another forum several years ago...where is he...does anyone know yet?

I've just joined the forum (and AC) in order to find a few pieces of gear I've long wanted, and want to trade for...which is why this forum was immediately attractive. I mean, outside of ePray, how would one know someone else might be trustworthy besides being a regular on the Forums here? It's a GREAT idea!

You see (for those who might not know me), I'm a DV who's largely restricted to my home due to my health. I thought that getting into the buy-sell-trade 'retro' audio thing would both be a great way to meet like-minded others and help them out as well.

Worked great for a few months until people with deep pockets saw profit potential and killed the market on several levels. Bastiges. Fargin' Iceholes. (See also: Johnny Dangerously.) Long story short, instead of selling and/or trading gear to get the pieces I wanted, I wound up with a garage full of gear, none of it I really wanted in my living room (it just isn't/wasn't what I've been looking for). I decided to get out of 'the biz' and trade/sell off what I collected at a huge loss just to clear out the space again and maybe still find a few of the pieces I want.

Again, that search led me here. I'd like to proffer that a 'trade' option be added here, along with commensurate 'trust ratings' to help others. Those who don't need the bux and want to try something new/different can jump in, and those of us with low/limited budgets can think about getting what we've long craved.

Any takers? Please?

If so, what I'm looking for (in order) is:
* A single Carver M400 Cube amp;
* A Carver C-5 or PSC-50 dual-zone preamp;
* An ADC Sound Shaper lll Paragraphic EQ
* A DBX 3BX or (preferably, now that I've discovered it) 4BX
* An ADC Sound Shaper SA-1 Spectrum Analyzer
* A pair of Carver M500/t amps (waaaaay down the list!)

To keep the Forums uncluttered, I have an ad in the Oklahoma City Craigslist listings, and I will respond to emails, too. My idea in this is to pare down and get what I want, so I'm willing to trade for more than the piece(s) I want is/are worth...I'm tired of trying to compete with the non-hobbyists and just want to go back to enjoying my tunes!

Feel free to email me, or if you want to expand the Circle to include my goofy idea, I'll sign on!!!

A good idea.  You should put a link to your Craigslist ad in your post here on AC so people interested can see what you are offering in the horse trade. Or a nice big list.

Just a thought.
