No one ever sells their acoustic treatments...

Just an observation, but it seems folks rarely sell their acoustic treatments like fiberglass absorption or diffusers. Sure they do, but nothing like the constant churn of CDs, LPs, sources, amps, speakers, cables, interconnects, wires, magic stones, and the like. Just a hmmm...  :smoke:

I did my own acoustic treatment . Got rid of a bed in the back left corner of my music room. I knew it would make a difference wasnt prepared for the difference . No more floppy bass, better soundstage and a whole new level of clarity.

You see it sometimes.  I agree not as often as other things.  I bought a couple of used 2x2 foot panels for the basement (I could have bought more) but since the system doesn't get used tons, I just wanted to treat where the speakers are close to the wall on each side.

I am constantly amazed at the number of systems I see here where the equipment is plainly megadollar stuff but the owner has obviously put little or no effort or thought into treating the room (or in many cases, speaker placement). One sees a lot of boo-boos like planars in front of glass doors, stuff like that. You needn't spend $$$ to quiet a room down either, I have seen a room where the owner hung quilts on the walls. They looked great and the music sounded great. Conversely, I once saw a Audio Research or Conrad Johnson (forget which)/ B&W 801 system in a room where the entire wall behind the speakers was glass, looking out on a garden patio. Didn't get to hear the system but I bet the sound wasn't anywhere near as good as the view. The differences between good room acoustics and bad room acoustics, IMHO, dwarf the differences between, say, different brands of the same type of tube. My 2 cents.

The ratio of how much they are worth to how much they cost to ship probably has a lot to do with it.

yeah, and a lot of treatment installations are customized so difficult to sell.
