This is not a review of the Suspiro phonostage I just received from Klaus, but more of an explanation of what it did for the problems I had with RFI.  I live within a mile of 5 transmission towers.  The problem I was having with the system is that I could clearly hear a radio station through my speakers.  While playing a record, soft passages were overrun by the radio.  I’m using a CAT SL1 preamp with phono section built in.  I was using a step up transformer which allowed me to run lower volume level on the preamp and reduce most of the sound of the radio station.  Recently I had my tone arm rewired which acted like an antennae, even with the SUT in place on high setting I could now hear the radio station very clearly.  The new wires must be less insulated than the originals.  I tried one other solid state phonostage with 66 dB of gain and it lowered the noise floor but did not get rid of the RFI.  When I got the Suspiro, I plugged it in and much to my amazement, the RFI was gone.  Of course, the most important thing is the elimination of the radio station from my system.  I will write more of a review later on the Suspiro itself compared to the CAT SL1.
I also must add is the build quality is excellent like all Klaus’ products.

Thanks John....

Yes,  the Suspiro is just stupid good, and will be a huge success for us...

Let me put it this way:  I have had 9 different phono units in my system lately to directly compare,  and man oh man,  we hit the jackpot !!!!!!
Listening to it right now.

Late,
Klaus

Couple of questions for you loki1957; what are your impressions of the pre-amp several weeks after your last post?  Do you happen to have any photos of the backside of the two units that you can post.  Thanks.

would this make any turntable s ound good!

im a HUGE fan of those technics mk1200 DJ ones, they are like a tank, I have had mine well over 20 years now, and NEVER had any problems, issues, what so ever, all i do is replace the stylus, which is the nice & easy screw on ones, and I have tried great cartridges and mediocre ones, and the dj concorde style are my fav, as they have a nice high output, i tried the ortofon X5i think it was, sure it was 300+ dollars, but the ortofon concorde dj ones sound waaay better, and last longer, and are not as fragile.

would this odyssey phno pre, make any difference in sound.... at all ??
