Cancelled due to lack of interest.  These speakers are too good to give away. - JR

It looks like we'll be selling these fine speakers after all -- they are fantastic speakers, absolutely gorgeous, and are fully lined with no-rez, have upgraded crossovers (everything but platinum bypasses, which can be added if wanted) and have bases that match the speaker cones.  You can see pics at:

The finish is a black cherry pearl in high-gloss and is absolutely flawless.  Speakers are in absolute miint condition, have about 100 hours of playtime on them.

The catch is that you'll have to deal with Ruben to figure out the shipping -- he's local so just dropped the speakers off at my house, so I don't have crates or packing materials.

I'm asking for $1600 -- somewhat less than they would be as new from Ruben, but in perfect condition, and with some break-in timeon them -- shipping is separate but Ruben would have to tell you the costs on that.

They are an easy 6 ohm load, and I can drive them insanely loud with my 15 watt PP el84 amp.

If interested, PM or email and we can talk specifics.

Thanks,

Jim

Yes, Ruben really even outdid himself with this pair -- they're amazing and just the other day we caught the cat looking at her reflection n the paint.  BTW, she's a well trained cat and would never even attempt to scratch on them -- they are truly in mint condition.

As to what I'm replacing them with -- something I can drive easily with my 2a3 amp, or maybe even a 45, so something very efficient, probably single driver, crossoverless, etc.  That's just the sound I love and I should just stop fooling myself into thinking even a nice design with superb crossovers is going to get me there.  I have tried many different amp/speaker types and I just keep coming back to the SET/High Eff thing, so I really need to just stick with that.  Danny's designs have always intrigued me and now I've tried one, that by all accounts is  real winner, yet it just doesn't get me as close to the music or make me want to listen as much as the SET approach.  No fault of the speaker, just two different approaches to the same goal of enjoying the music.  And, no, the OB speakers won't work in this house either -- no way and no place where they can be pulled into the room far enough.

Different strokes, that's all.

Well said.  Good luck on the sale.

Ok, now officially for sale -- 1,650. Also, for full price offers, the crating will be covered, all you'd have to pay is the substantially discounted freight from Denver area to your ocal freight terminal, and from there you can either pick them up or pay extra for delivery to your door -- which varies with your area.

These speakers are of similar design, but sound much nicer (to me) and are far more stable on their bases than the Acoustic Zen Addagios I used to own a few years back.  They're also easier to drive and more efficient.

The price is what it is, the condition is mint, and the sound is way above the price point.  Sorry, not interested in any trades either -- my systems are done except for speakers to replace these, and I already have half that system on order.

Thanks for looking,

Jim

Ok, pricing update -- I don't know why I said $1600 initially and then$1650 later, but anyway... $1500 is the firm price from herre on out.  I have somewhat more than this (and even the original prices) to let them go for any less, and as I said, the crating will not cost you anything, and the freight is available at a highly discounted rate.

BTW, the crossovers do have all sonicaps and mills resistors -- just add 4 sonicap platinum bypasses (2 for each speaker) and you're at the top of the line.  Also comes with 4 unused Elektra Tube connector male studs -- I'm using standard bananas with no issues.

Go ahead, get these as a great christmas present for you and your wife -- even she'll love them as much as you will.
