Brent's SongTower-based home theater setup
« on: 8 Dec 2011, 09:09 pm »
Brent wanted a home theater setup and started with three SongTowers across the front of the room.  He loved the silver gray color and wanted some nice quilted maple veneer.  So we settled on a nice batch.  Here are the SongTowers...

Next it was on to the surround speakers.  He wanted true bipole/dipole speakers based on the SongSeries, but as small as possible.  So we used the CA12's for this project...

Since true dipole designs exhibit a great degree of bass cancellation, we included switches that allow out-of-phase selection of the tweeter and woofer individually.  So Brent can switch the tweeter out of phase alone for more bass or both drivers for true dipole operation.  Or you can leave both in phase for bipole operation.

Finally, it was on to the subwoofer.  We built a 12" Rythmik sub for this application.  Here is a shot from the front...

And a shot from the rear...

Happy listening Brent!

- Jim

Very nice. I like the more subtle effect of images in the maple with the silver gray color, looking kind of like little clouds.

Hey thanks!  Really looking forward to giving them a listen.  The wait to finally see them was tough - they look great Jim.   Waiting another week to hear them will be excruciating...

The highest compliment I can pay you Brent - You Suck!! :thumb:

Actually I saw the surrounds at the shop unfinished.  Nice and tidy.
