i need a good budget monitor

can anyone recommend a good monitor to replace my dying 19" lacie Lcd?
i don't need an expensive (eizo) monitor as i already have one, need a second monitor pref. greater than 24" up to $500

I'd recommend 2 Asus 24 inchers for $199 each

You're not gonna get a single display bigger than 27" for less than $500 unless you're willing to use an HDTV.

Also, many of the ASUS monitors, including the two linked above, have a 3 year Rapid Replacement Program which offer cross-shipping advanced swap with shipping covered both ways.

I think in the end I will go with NEC

it's small but I've seen the cheap monitors and they just don't reproduce anything near the Adobe 1998 colour gamut. The NEC does about 95% - apple monitors are sRGB and do about 85%.

I'll need it for photography work.
