PAIR NOS SYLVANIA 2A3 VACUUM TUBES IN BOX TESTED - SOLD
This listing is for a group of 2 Sylvania 2A3 vacuum tubes in very nice and clean original boxes.
These appear to have NEVER been removed from their boxes and are clearly NOS (“new” old stock).
Price on these is firm (unless you want to combine them with the other tubes I currently have listed).
I tried to remove them from their boxes, but I could not even slide the internal containment enough for “normal” testing in box without completely tearing the bottom (there are now some small tears in the bottom, but not enough to get the tubes out).
I have only been able to see enough of the tubes to reasonably determine that they have the dual connected black plates with a single internal support between the micas. I would guess that these tubes are from the mid-late 1940s.
Despite the fact that I could not push the tubes down far enough in the box to plug them directly into my tester, I was able to test them on my Precision 660 tester by using a 4-pin to octal adapter. According to the Precision manual, an “average new” tube should test at 84, but in practice this can vary from tube to tube. In any event, the test results are as follows:

For comparison, I tested a recent production unused Sovtek, which came out at 100.
No only do they look like NOS, they test like NOS as well.
