James,
Do you get much of a chance to check out the other rooms when you do these shows?

I usually ask people that come into our room what they have heard at the show they liked and get a consensus and on the last day i try to get to those rooms to audition.

Have a great show James.

Wish I could be out there, but between last week's knee surgery and some family obligations, it just didn't work out.

Can you remind me what you are demonstrating at the show?

We've got the:

BP-26 & MPS2
BDP-1
BDA-1
28Bsst2
Bryston Cables
PMC PB1i's
PMC TB2i signature
PMB Twenty 21, 22, 23 & 24...

Pretty sure I didn't leave anything out...

And yes, we are playing all of the speakers at once.

Here's a speaker related question for you:
What are the twenty speakers like compared to the other PMC lines?

First time at the show and the bryston room was fanastic. Met James and he is a treat; unassuming but very friendly and helpful and played some great music. I came away with a pair of PMC PB1i's that were in the Bryston room and I loved their sound. It was a pleasure to meet James and the big Bryston amps sounded fab. All in all a great time had by my wife and I and I can't wait to have the PMC's at home. The wait will kill me. PS the Bryston digital unit BDA I think was in many rooms and sounded great. I did ask James about amps for my new speakers and I think I have another purchase in the near future. As Laundrew has posted the "beasties" I listened to were over the top and I wish I had the cash for them. I cant imagine them on the JBL horns

If you have not come to the show I would highly recommend it. My wife enjoyed it as well and I picked up several new artists to listen to.

I was able sneak out of a work training session and attend the show!

Here are a few points that I cam away with ...

- Hearing some of these 100K plus systems was actually disapointing as I was expecting to be knocked off the chair. I walked away thinking how lucky I am to have my current JBL/Bryston set up.

- The Bryston DAC & BDA were present in several rooms throughout the show and everyone had positive feedback on both units .... I need to jump on this combo soon.

- Best sound of the show from what I was able to hear was PMC, JBL Everest, Acapella & German Physiks ... all of these have different technology although, they all sound great!

Also, it was great meeting James at the show as well ... it was nice to say hello and thank him for all of his help with the forum and answering all of my emails over the last few years.

James,
I think it is really impressive to see a lot of manufactures are using the BDP-1 as thier source player.
In last few shows I saw a lot of them.
Good for you and every one in Bryston :thumb:

Hey Bob,

The twenty series can be considered the entry-level of the fact styling and sound but also the evolution and future of the PMC HiFi line-up. The new HF driver is the result of improving on the Fact 3 & 8 HF unit. The response from those that had a chance to hear the 24's at RMAF was very positive - for the price, the performance and the finish.... A lot of which had to the with the fact that we had a killer Bryston rig at our disposal as well.

Just a little more clarity on this.  I understand this as saying that the new 20 series is the evolution of the PMC HiFi line-up that leverages all that's been learned from the Fact 3/8 as well as the existing "i" series.  So, for clarity, at some point in the future the 20 series will replace all models in both the "i" and Fact series (no more "i" and Fact) - correct?

Where do the various 20 series models sit from a pricing standpoint in comparison to their nearest "i" series counterpart.  In other words, is the twenty.24 more expensive or less expensive than the FB1i or PB1i?

Anyone have a U.S. or preferably Canadian MSRP on the twenty series models?  Thanks.

Bryston/PMC Room

Hi Jason,

First, I completely agree with Chris re sound at shows - a less than stellar sound proves absolutely nothing.

But I think there is one small ray of light - if a room really does manage to sound good, then at least it proves that that system indeed can. Two friends and I did listen to the Bryston/PMC room and indeed it did sound wonderful to our ears, and on visits over two days.

This is just kudos where it is due - however they did it, these guys achieved a very good sounding system and we were very impressed.

If you search around a little you will find other similar comments. Hope this helps.

For the foreseeable future, the Twenty's will not replace the i-Series.... But only time will tell.

The Twenty's are a compliment to the Fact series, serving essentially as the entry level to the Fact's styling and performance.

The retail pricing for the models is as follows:

Twenty21 - $2699
Twenty22 - $3549
Twenty23 - $4099
Twenty24 - $5999

Stands that compliment the 21 & 22 are $699
The standard finishes are Oak, Walnut, Amarone (Rosewood), and Diamond Black (at a 10% upcharge)

All models come with the 20 year warranty.

All models are available now...
