Modify MFF 7 turntable - Completely modify MMF 7 with Bamboo plinth and same stand in black. Arm board is adj. to accommodate different arms - made out of walnut solid piece of wood with two steel rods for distance adj. Arm is Moarch up4 with Denon 103R cart. New plinth and stand added some weight to the original cheap design with funny balls between the layers of MDF. Not criticizing the original design - it is a great turntable for the money but out of boredom I decided to overhaul it as much as possible on the very little budget. You can do the same : buy the motor , platter, belt and spindle for around $150-$200. Bamboo butcher block 2X $40 = $80 from TJMax, scrap piece of solid wood from local wood shop = free, paint and accessories = $50. Grand total = around $300 for necessary parts. Add arm and cart of your choice. Denon 103 and Rega arm would be a good starting combo. Enjoy.
