Nate's Audiophillic Cornucopia of Illuminated Objects

This album consists of images which I have carefully uploaded to this damn website. Viewer discretion is advised. But if you think about it when is viewer discretion NOT advised? I mean, you can't view everything there is to see and some things you might see and then quick look away. That sounds like discretion to me.
Thumbnail for doubleburl - Lay waste to Burl Ives He will crumble underneat us Underneat us!
Thumbnail for Cathedral Equilibrium - Dave Patchett and Catherdral's classic first meeting. Here we have a 1:1 ratio of great music and great art. Definitely can see the Bosch influence IMO.
Thumbnail for King Diamond Abigail II - A damn fine album cover if I do say
Thumbnail for Galactic Cowboys SIYF - These guys were one of the first metal bands I ever saw in concert. This album is only okay, but the cover art kicks ass. I love the purples and greens. Top notch rendering.
Thumbnail for meat loaf bat out of hell front - This album cover made an indelible mark on my mind even though I was far too young to actually be into the music. Now that I own the vinyl I have to say that the music ain't all that great. I appreciate Meatloaf's melodrama and bombast, but the fact is the cover is way cooler than the tunes IMO.
Thumbnail for Morbid Angel Gateways - A crop of one helluvan epic Dan Seagrave painting. Totally badass fantasy landscapes of twisted buildings and such.
Thumbnail for SeaHags - Even more of a disparate music to cover art ration than Meatloaf. This gorgeous artwork graces an uneventful, also-ran LA Glam band. I haven't seen anything to equal this one, at least not using this same technique.
Thumbnail for Black Sabbath Mob Rules - When your clothing begins to resemble drainage pipes the only thing to to is grab a hose and hang out by the dirty sheet!
Thumbnail for Brain Salad Surgery - Initially purchased solely for the Giger, but the music I actually came to really enjoy. This represents one of the great losses of modern day music distribution. How the hell do you put a die cut gatefold on an iTunes download? Let us bow our heads for a moment of silence...
Thumbnail for Death Spiritual Healing - The first or second death metal album I ever bought. What's not to like about Ed Repka? The ever-present outstretched hands, the creepy-looking humans...the guy rocks.
Thumbnail for Slough Feg Deadmen2 - This one's a real beauty. Very nice printing job on the CD too. The varnish really makes it pop. In a way the composition and color is vaguely similar to Bat Out Of Hell, the rounded hill, the red and orange dramatic sky... It appears to be a creature made from severed limbs and a few tentacles thrown in for good measure.
Thumbnail for cianide1 - The artists from Ye Olde Days probably had no idea that their scary religious paintings about death and Hell would be future heavy metal album covers. I wish I knew who did this one.
