Thumbnail for Stands 3 - A side shot. The speakers are spiked with DIY spikes made with #8 wood screws cut and ground. I have the front shimmed with 1/4" plexi and a piece of rubber sheet. This provides a few degrees tilt which improves imaging a bit.

Thumbnail for Stands 2 - They are made of 3/4" mdf, with an extra long double thickness piece serving as the base, which also has DIY spikes ground from machine screws. The semi-circular hole allows for filling with bags of sand, with some odd bits of foam topping it off (cavity elimination). The stands weigh ~ 80 lbs

Thumbnail for Stands 1 - I made the base extra long for front to back rigidity.
The listening room is in cable/amp comparison chaos.

Oh yes -- the mdf is sanded very smooth but unfinished. It seems to work in our living room.

Thumbnail for Monoblock - Just a shot of one of 2 amps. I retained the stock transformer but may try toroidals. The blue cans are from MC -- 27,000 ufd Chemi-cons. Not sure about these things. I may try Mundorf or Jensen 4 poles. I'd pay the 800 bucks for Black Gates if I could find them, I think!

I used Ixys PSU diodes, Carol wire, the stock binding posts will be replaced. You can see 2 - BG caps on the PA-3D Signature board. I may replace the stock output devices with Exicon Double-Die types.
