Dipole Sub Construction
No description
Center layers stacked, with wire track and small hole for binding posts.
Top added. Veneer being applied.
Baffle gets routed for internal wiring. Veneer at bottom is scrap to compensate for US 1/2 inch (MDF) and EU 1/2 inch (plywood extentions).
25 Lbs of lead shot fills the holes.
Adhesive back polymerized asphalt sheets sandwich the shot and adhere to the bafflecore and outer layers.
Outer layer getting walnut veneer.
More veneering.
One side done.
Baffle all glued up. Trim veneer being attached.
Not my basement! Pity... Smoothing and squaring the top was tricky, given the weight of the baffle.
Mortice & tenon joint detail. Yellow glue first, then a tube of epoxy finished the job. Note threaded inserts for optional cone feet.
Bottom plate attached. Soft feet selected initially. Open chambers were filled with sand.
