Tantalum Caps as bypass in preamps?
« on: 2 Jun 2019, 05:03 am »
Hello all!
As a new member of the forum, I am interested here on any opinions on the sonic aspects/opinions on the "Hermetically Sealed" Dry type 50V electrolytic caps as used in the Bypass position in the preamp sections?
Also as a side note, I am well aware of the troubled history of these caps failing catastrophically due to overvoltage or sudden spikes in reverse voltages. So it is not necessary to start a long drawn out thread about how many you have replaced or have seen fail. Just really interested in how they sound in bypass and if they have a good rep there.
Any opinions welcome and thanks for your opinion  :D
