Left channel buzz LS 36.5
« on: 6 Aug 2010, 11:52 pm »
Hello All,

Recently picked up an LS36.5 and have noticed a VERY faint buzz coming from the tweeter of left speaker.  It is very faint but I happened to notice it when standing right next to speaker.  I've done the usual investigating and have narrowed it down to the Left Balanced Output of the pre.  The unbalanced do not produce the buzzing.  Swapped out 3 different cables with same result.  I can not hear this at all from my listening position.....I guess I'm just an anal freak.  My question is.....do I even need to worry about this at all?  Or perhaps this is normal and I'm driving myself nuts?  Would hate to have to send it in for repair.  Let me know your opinions please or maybe a solution.  Thank you!!

You sure it is not a noisy tube?  The XLR outs are higher gain so tube noise would be more prominent too.  Obviously swapping signal tubes would isolate,

Hi Ted,

Thanks for your suggestion.  Yes I tried that as well and it's the same.

Cheers
