Payback isn't the latest Liam Neeson film or WWE grudge match, it is a tight crime mystery about a crime boss looking for his missing $27 million pounds and an accountant's wife caught in the middle between the crime boss and the police.
Lexie Noble (Morven Christie), an accountant who’s raising her two young children in Edinburgh while her husband, Jared, who’s also an accountant, runs their business. After Jared is murdered in broad daylight by street thugs, Lexie discovers that he stole $27 million pounds from feared local crime boss Cal Morris (Peter Mullan). Her only hope to stay alive is to find the money.

Lexie is also the police's prime suspect in her husband's murder.
No car chases, no martial arts fight scenes, no nudity. Payback does have plenty of tension filled scenes that advance the plot with quick pacing. One reviewer said the plot was predictable, IT IS NOT, I was guessing to the end. I think the reviewer wrote that just so everyone thinks she is smarter than the rest of us.
