Ok folks, sorry to bother with something like this. But a buddy sent me a song he thought I'd enjoy.
As it turns out, I knew the song, but it was by a different singer. But after an exhaustive search of videos, I can't find the "version" I know.
So please, help me out. I think the vocalist was male. I also think it was an "audiophile song", meaning it might have been a part of an audiophile compilation disk?
So, I like the song, but highly prefer the version that's in my mind. I can distinctly 'hear" the vocals by a different person.

Oh... I can say that it's not version sung by Morgan James, or Heather Rice. But again, I *think* it was male vocals?

The song was covered by the English jazz pianist songwriter Jamie Cullum on his 2003 album Twentysomething, and has also been covered live by American singer-songwriter John Mayer and Australian singer-songwriter Matt Corby. The song was also featured in the third episode of the ABC series FlashForward titled "137 Sekunden". The song was covered by Natalie Maines on her 2013 solo album Mother. American singer Nikka Costa included a version of the song on her 2017 album Underneath and in Between.

And its rattling around my head now.  I do remember Natallie doing it.

Wow, great info, thank you very much. That'll give me some homework tonight.
The differences in grammar and punctuation on phrases like these make searches more difficult.
