Apparently he started age 12 and had been playing in bands since 17. In '84, when he was 21 he went with his band to LA in the hopes of landing a record deal, but the band broke up. He met Nicholas Cage through his wife and was encouraged by him to pursue an acting career.

That's an incredible story, I'm surprised that's not more well known.
Thank you Sir!

Well, there's that, and he's been singing back up and lead vocals with the Hollywood Vampires for about five years now...

Yes, in fact, it's just like that.  :thumb:   Hollywood Vampires

"Mother" - Roger Waters
Yea.... we've heard this one a million times. But this is the "Covid version". Gotta say, for YT quality, it sounds pretty good.
Highly recommended.

Roger is back with another COVID-19 isolation video. This time we get a great performance of the last cut on 'The Final Cut' - 'Two Suns in the Sunset'.

Honestly, Roger has shown such a hatred and bias towards the U.S., I have a hard time watching anything he's done in recent years.
I gave an honest try to watch the video, I skimmed, but I just couldn't do it.
He's got a couple videos that are "honest" to old school Pink Floyd, but when he veers off track, I'm quick to leave.   :|
I love his voice, and the sound quality (for Youtube) is great, but, it's hard to like a person that hates you so much.

Okay, here's something completely different - Steve Vai, all by himself, with 'The Moon and I'. He recently turned 60 - man, we're getting old.

...or something else completely different (for Steve).

One of the things I love about YouTube is all the amazing covers one can find of certain songs. Metallica's 'Nothing Else Matters' is one of those songs and here is a version on classical guitar from Denmark - Søren Madsen. Enjoy the deliciousness of the next three minutes.

That's nice! Of course I had to listen to the next song, "Hotel California".

So.... I've been bored with tunes recently, which has caused me to delve into old harddrives and genres that weren't tagged correctly.
Suffice it to say, I feel this one fell through the cracks. Sure seems like an audiophile wet-dream, like it would be played at every gathering, and quickly grown tired of.

Granted, "somehow", I've got a FLAC version of this and I've got the volume on "11", so the YT render will be much less amazing.
Hopefully, y'all find the magic I did in this one, and enjoy as much as I am.

Isn't it interesting that these early digital recordings are often done so well? I lived a little north of where this was recorded, when it was recorded - still miss Southern Bavaria. There's no telling on how many albums these guys played, as studio musicians all too often go uncredited. They make a tight group and it sounds great, even via YouTube.

Tagged correctly doesn't describe the preponderance of my ripped media, but it's not really an issue for the way I play it. Considering how many thousands of files have incomplete (or worse) metadata, I don't expect to ever address that situation.

The first time I saw Michael Hedges playing acoustic guitar in this fashion, I had to scoop my jaw off the floor. Now, there are quite a few playing in this style and Mike Dawes is a fabulous 'one man band'. This is a YouTube video with really good audio quality, as well.

Yeah, when I stumbled into Søren, I had to listen to 'Hotel California' as well...along with several more.

I dig that song. I follow a couple guys with that "style". Very cool, very pure.
Not sure about the song title though.

Turn this up to the volume necessary for him to be playing directly in front of you. This is from yesterday.

Brick Fields - "I Do Not Row Alone"

So this band has 200 subscribers. Their videos go back 7 years.
I simply don't understand that math.
