This is pretty cool.  A good "cover" of an old tune.

It's very cool and it's an excellent cover of an old tune. The only quibble (which is minor) is that the vocalist doesn't have quite the upper range that Brad Delp could reach. Otherwise, it's pretty much spot on and I rather like the addition of the female backup singers.

Peia is another woman whose voice enchants me. To me, this is simply beautiful, as is her most recent album, Beauty Thunders. Then again, I suppose I'm kind of weird, but happy to be that way.

I dig it. She's "peaceful", almost like the female version of IZ.
Someone could almost to a "mash-up" of this song and this one by IZ:

Calling her a female version of IZ is quite a compliment, one that I would second. She's another one that I happened to stumble into via YouTube.

Lest you think I only consume music of this type, my most recent arrival is the latest from Soen, but the linked song is from their previous (second) release.

Lykaia is a bit heavier. I hated to see Martin Lopez leave Opeth, but was stunned by the first release from Soen. Joel was a singer in a Swedish pop band, and I'm really glad that Martin teamed up with him (and vice versa).

As far as I'm concerned, words like these should never have to be uttered on a site like this.
My friend, we are all fans of music, and the equipment that brings us "there".
Ok... in all honesty, some are fans of the equipment and the music that causes that equipment to take us "there".
But whatever.
The point is, whatever bizarre genre we are into, the fact remains, we are all part of the same auditory alcoholism.

Rock on Brother. Rock on.
I dig both of the songs you linked to.  :thumb:

I like the equipment, too. My mom had me tested when I was a kid - wasn't very interested in other people, but was drawn to things, mostly things that made noise,  electronic do-dads and cars (in that order). I've probably posted this before, but I'll swing back the other way with a link to another woman with an ethereal voice, recorded in what just may be the perfect space. Elisabeth Pawelke sang in Faun when my daughter introduced me to them. Ah, well, just listen and try not to feel something. This, too, is simple in its accompaniment to the voice.

It's more than auditory alcoholism. Music tickles many other areas of the brain beyond simple auditory processing and pleasure response. Music is the best.

You and me both.

That's the frustrating thing about the video. It seems the only thing recorded in that particular space, to which I can only beg, "Why!?!" I wish she would record an entire album there. The acoustics are simply perfect. The way her magnificent voice dances in that ideally reverberant space is so enchanting. It feels almost as if a crime has been committed that this one video on YouTube is all there is of that great voice in such superb acoustics.

She's awesome Kevin!!  :o

I must have played that video hundreds of times by now, and it has never failed to draw water from my eyes. It's one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard - almost more than I can bear, if that makes any sense.

That last one has a 7-stringed guitar.  I've never heard of such a thing.
