A suggestion about the Integrated Amp...
« on: 13 May 2003, 05:41 am »
I was looking at the list of probable features for the new integrated amp, and I must say I'm impressed!  I love the fact that it will have an HT pass thru (something I'm always beating the drum for! ), and the flexibility looks to be there in spades.

Will this have a remote?  That would be a great feature.

But the main thing I'd like to see is the preamp and amp sections to be separate, with jumpers needed to connect them.  This would totally rock:  you could easily use the preamp with other amps down the road (like, oh, I don't know, the MB 250s! 8) ).  And maybe more importantly it would let you insert a crossover between the amp & preamp sections, allowing for the best implementation of a sub with an integrated amp.

I've been planning to get an NAD int amp for my second system, due to great bang for the buck but also to the fact that they incorporate separate amp & preamp sections.  But I'd definately move the IRD to the top of the list if it had those features.

Just my 2 cents worth!
