What am I thinking? Why would I want to turn off any of Odyssey gears? Oh well, if I don't turn off the preamp I'm sure will be late for work the next day.

AlexG, I still have a question of you on using a pair of 5963 tubes in my Candela. Will there be any problem using these? I leave my Candela and my new Kismets/Stratos(two weeks old) mono blocks on all the time. I make sure that I leave the volume turned all the way down on the Candela when I am not listening. :D

I used to keep everything on, tube pre amp, source and Khartago monos. Now I don't, the preamp thumps when turning on. Now it is amps are turned on last, off first.

The 5963 tube is a replacement for the 12AU7 with a limitation of maximum plate voltage - that will not be affected by the Candela.
This is a military version tube with a stronger (read thicker) cathode commissioned originally by the U.S. Navy and build by Sylvania. Its primary used was in the vertical sync circuits on older radars. It was also used in the first computers!

While is a very strong tube, it is not very musical to my ears.
