Dick Dale king of Surf music passed away Saturday at 81.
Known for Hawaii surf music, (have two of his albums) his guitar skills may have gone unnoticed. But if you've seen the video of him performing 'Pipeline'(Love this song, cranked) with Stevie Ray Vaughan you know this guy could play guitar.
He is also credited with (don't quote me on this) advancing the design of guitar amps. As his style of play IIRC in the early '60's would blow the speaker. So the engineers had to design amps that could withstand his playing style without blowing up the speaker amp.
