This is a nice upgrade.

I have just fitted a customer’s Wadia 170i Ipod dock with an SR3-12 external power supply and a pair of S17LN three terminal regulator replacements internally. The improvement in sound quality was rather large and I was pleasantly surprised by the overall sound quality with Apple Lossless recordings. Looks like I will be buying a Wadia Dock and an Ipod for my daughter as a Christmas present, as she is now pestering me to get these for her, having heard how good this combination can sound.

Paul, are those series regs you installed?  Also, in picture 003, there looks to be a regulator that also could be replaced.  I've cropped that picture to show the part I'm looking at.  Is that a reg?

They are the Ultra Low Noise S17 series regulators.

This was over a year ago and to be honest I cannot remember what the surface mount package device you refer to was. I did not get the Wadia for my daughter, as her priorities changed before Christmas, so I cannot check the device here. Maybe someone with a Wadia can do this and post details.
