A couple Neo-10 questions for Danny
« on: 25 Feb 2013, 03:42 am »
Hi, Danny.

When using the BG Neo's, how important is the use of a faceplate to make the front opening of the driver flush with the rest of the cabinet? I noticed on the Serenity Super 7's that you didn't do that with the 10's. Is the important with the Neo-3's?

Also, you chamfered the rear of the baffles for those drivers (I assume not for looks); how important is that for getting the most out of those them?

Thanks,
jeff

There is really not a face plate for the Neo 10. Meniscus makes one, but it is more for decorative mounting.

The Neo 10's do use a flush mounting system though so that there are no diffraction effects of sharp edges. And adding the radius to the rear of the baffle in the through hole for the drivers minimizes edge diffraction from the back wave.

The Neo 3 plays up into a higher range and is very much effected by the surface reflections. So how it is mounted is a big deal.
